Department of Biotechnology
Our department aims to train high quality professionals in biotechnology-related fields. Our programs are closely aligned with current industry trends and government policy, and focus as much on practical application as on theory, with particular emphasis on the establishment of strong practical skills in biochemistry, molecular biology and microbiology. Our goal is to produce graduates qualified to serve as specialists or researchers in the application of biotechnology to the medical, food, agriculture, and pharmaceutical industries. In recognition of our efforts, we were awarded the highest possible rating in the Ministry of Education university evaluations of 2005 and 2010.
Teaching and Learning
Since the 2013 academic year, we have offered new modules in research and development, technical operation inspection, and biotechnology management and service. All students are required to complete special projects in biotechnology-related fields, and take courses that emphasize both theory and practice. After four years of study in the department, students should be able to confidently enter the employment market, equipped with the skills to become professionals in the field of biotechnology.
Our department also offers master’s and executive master’s programs. Our faculty includes experts from biotechnology and related fields who published 40 SCI research papers between 2011 and 2013. We also completed at least 50 government projects and won 27 awards. Since 2001, we have cultivated a large number of outstanding professionals who are currently employed in biotech-related industries.
